Dr. Banskota Wins 2025 World of Children Hero Award!

Described as the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocates”, The World of Children funds and elevates the most effective change-makers for children globally. Hero Awards are given to extraordinary real-life heroes who were previously honored and funded by World of Children. These heroes have shown measurable outcomes and leveraged their recognition and original grant funds to deliver an even more profound impact on vulnerable children. These honorees are selfless leaders of high-impact, proven programs for children that demonstrate profound and quantifiable outcomes. 
 
Beginning with one child 40 years ago, Dr. Ashok Banskota spearheaded the compassionate work that has transformed the lives of more than 125,000 poor children with disabilities to date.  His big bold vision of making state-of-the-art, world-class care available to the poorest children with disabilities in Nepal is a reality. Expanding on his father's vision, Dr. Bibek Banskota and the HRDC team treat more than 22,000 children every year, reaching the most remote corners of the country.
